PCBSNR workshop at EMS

System Sound workshop

The System Sound workshop is an event of DIY electronics for experimental feedback music. Participants get to build and keep and a System Sound device. As part of the workshop, Max Wainwright will also give a small talk on ideas behind the System Sound device, showcase som performance techniques and explain how the device works.

System Sound is a sound device for exploring and celebrating acoustic feedback and “some input mixing”. Wherein loudspeakers, microphones, amplifiers and external sound sources combine to create a complex system of oscillations and noise. A web of movements, diffusion and oscillating tones. Tip toeing around chaos.

No previous electronics or soldering knowledge is required.

Please note that this workshop is in Swedish. Also note that there is a lunch break. You need to bring a packed lunch as there is no time to go away and buy food.

System Sound requires an external power supply, which is not included. A power supply for tests during the workshop will be available. The power supply is Boss standard (same as 99% of guitar pedals), centre negative. Voltage should be around 9-12V, with at least 500mA of current.

Time: 11:00-18:00. See the note about the packed lunch above.
